Po Leung Kuk Main Building

Po Leung Kuk Main Building is a captivating historical monument that bridges heritage and modern design. Completed in 1932 and declared a Grade 1 Historic Building in 2023. The building was designed by Mr. IU Tak-chung, one of the earliest Chinese modern architects in Hong Kong and director of Po Leung Kuk. Its red-brick exterior, Western-style dome, and vintage portico contrast beautifully with traditional Chinese stone-carved couplets, standing out against the surrounding high-rises.

It once provided shelter and protection to countless women and children. Today, it has transformed into a vibrant platform for community engagement and an inspiring venue for cultural exhibitions, housing the Po Leung Kuk Museum inside to showcase its profound charitable history. Open free to the public, it is a magnificent cultural oasis in the heart of the city that is not to be missed.
